3. 3 Unit Training Management (UTM) Victory Through Training Overmatch CAC-T What are Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS) CATS provide task-based, event driven strategies for training units. They are derived from the unit TOE and are developed to train the unit on its designed function. Three key concepts in Unit CATS are: Task Selections (tasks that are logically trained together) Progressive Methodology (crawl, walk, run) ARFORGEN & METL Based For each Task Selection, CATS recommends several events that can train the Task Selection and the associated collective tasks. CATS provides a list of resources required to plan and execute each recommended training event.
