An emerging leader and developer of Green Alternatives for Bio Energy And Agricultural Food crops in Africa Developing a BioEthanol Refinery from Cassava for Zambia

About GroAfrica GroAfrica Limited is a Zambian agricultural and green energy based company with a primary focus to develop a bio ethanol refinery based on cassava feedstock. GroAfrica has sourced an over abundance of cassava in Zambia that far exceeds consumption. We have developed a hub and spoke model for collection points from +40,000 cassava farmers, which will be peeled, chipped and transported to a 100 HA Refinery lot owned by the Company. The Zambia market under Government mandated fuel blending is 70M litres a year. GroAfrica plans with a modular refinery to produce initially 15M litres, and ramp up over time as downstream markets are developed.

Why GroAfrica GroAfrica is a diversified bio energy and agro company in a stable Zambia with expansion planned through out southern Africa Plans to be the first bio ethanol refiner in Zambia with a Zambia Government mandate to blend all fuels with ethanol THE POSITIVES  Feedstock is secure with 45 supply co-op contracts.  Over abundance of feedstock ( cassava) touching only 3% of market, so no negative food for fuel impact concerns  Creating a new market to help 45,000 small scale farmers  Be main supplier of ethanol to Government blending refinery  Downstream diversification markets ( clean cooking etc)  Land secured for plant/refinery and Company’s own plantation for long-term feedstock supply  Agricultural diversification business/revenue streams  ROI of 44%, IRR 31%  Experienced collaboration proponent partners engineers

About Zambia  Republic of Zambia, 50 years of independence  Population 13.8 M  Area = 752,614 km ²  Language English, Bemba  Main exports Copper, Minerals, Agricultural  Top 5 copper producing country  GDP growth 6.7%  Fraser Institute Economic Freedom rank of 38 th (7.6 on a scale to 10), 2012 Euro area Government debt to GDP Zambia Government debt to GDP

PRESENTATION NAME Company Name Zambia The Market Our objective is to become the first Zambian Bioethanol producer from Cassava Primary Market – Fuel blend mandate in Zambia, reduce it’s import Secondary – Power Generation/Electrification Tertiary – The Cookstove market in Zambia ( to replace charcoal source cooking)

PRESENTATION NAME Company Name Cassava  Cassava is the 4 th largest staple in the world after wheat, rice and maize  About 500 million people around the world depend on cassava as a staple food  Cassava is the 3 rd largest source of carbohydrates in plants used for food in the world  Planting of cuttings to maturity and first yield is 16 months, but is resilient and can stay in the soil up to 4 years

PRESENTATION NAME Company Name Cassava Benefits as a feedstock  Cassava has the highest known rate of sucrose synthesis of any plant surveyed to date (80-90% Carbohydrates-3.05Mcal/kg)  Potential starch yields are greater than most other starch producing plants when grown under ideal conditions (90 tons FW/hectare)  Cassava is drought tolerant  Cassava grows well even in poor soil conditions  Cassava is protected from most pests and herbivores by cyanogenic glycosides  Cassava requires little maintenance or labor in the field
