What’s Wrong With What I’ve Been Doing? Is it still working? 2

What message do you want to portray about your business? How do you think your potential customers and current clients perceive your correspondence? 3

Today’s businesses employ some of the most creative minds on the planet. Whether the job descriptions involve drywall tradesman, IT software development, or retail store manager, all businesses have one thing in common: 4

They need to keep working, which means: They need to market. 5

Is This You? Owners and staff members don't understand how to use some of the new tools, such as social media, to their advantage. Traditional marketing is too expensive and you don’t know how to engage the media. 6

You think your internal and external communications may be impacting your bottom line. Redos take time. Typos leave a bad impression. Missed words miscue the intent of a message. And just because everybody else does it, doesn't make it right. 7

Positioning your message in 2010 and beyond just got more complicated. 8

The good news is it doesn't have to be expensive. New entrepreneurs don't have to fork out thousands of dollars in hit and miss ads. 9

And with a handful of tweaks, improving your communications skills will help improve your company’s perceived professionalism. 10

What’s Your Message? Is your marketing aligned? 11

What’s Your Demographic? There is a new generation of people (under 30s) who have never physically touched a newspaper, let alone read one. Traditional methods will never reach them and you might as well throw your money to the wind. 12

I Can Help Learning today’s new marketing does not have to be so hard. The best part is that it cost little to zero and the return on investment (time) is immediately measurable. 13

I will make this new world of marketing relevant and help you improve your communications skills by at least 25 percent. 14

My Presentation People have literally jumped out of their seats with the myriad of possibilities and leapt into action with their minds buzzing as soon as they left. They've told me so. 15

Don't just take my word for it. 16

Bring me in for an hour to present to you and your staff. Then you can see for yourself if there is any merit to it. 17

If You Like What You See We can set up a program where I can help you: Plant seeds and increase your online profile Help you and your staff use the Internet to find leads Find creative tie-ins for promotions and marketing 18

I Will Also Help You Market your business with words Learn how to identify, plan, and prepare different types of communication Understand the media’s needs versus what you want to communicate Identify different types of marketing tools 19

1964: make average stuff for average people. Get retail shelf space. Use every penny you’ve got to buy TV time. Sell as much as you can. Repeat with a different product. 2010: Realize that most businesses are still living in 1964. Time to get in sync with the New Marketing. Godin, Seth. Meatball Sundae: Is Your Marketing Out of Sync? Portfolio, Penguin Group, New York, 2007.

Why Not… Face the challenge and do it anyway. Take a risk, grow, and learn. Have fun doing it. 21
