1 Software Assurance Voucher Benefit (SAVB) Online Tool
(Speaker Introduction) Thank you for joining this User Training presentation for the “Software Assurance Voucher Benefit” (or “SAVB”) Online Tool, which will go “live” for partner use on February 14th, Effective February 14th, all Partners who participate in the SA Training Voucher or Packaged Service Voucher Benefit programs will be required to use SAVB online to create and submit payment requests (invoices) to Microsoft for their redeemed vouchers. (This new online process will replace prior RSC invoice submission requirements.) We have a lot to cover, so let’s get started by reviewing our training course outline… Software Assurance Voucher Benefit (SAVB) Online Tool User Training

2 Course Outline Introduction: SAVB Online Tool Overview
Getting Started in SAVB User Scenarios Resources Partner Next Steps Q&A Appendix In this User Training we will cover… An “intro” to SAVB – an overview of what it is, what it does, and it’s benefits to partners How to “get started” – the quick User set-up steps in SAVB User Scenarios – for example, how to create a payment request, how to generate a payment status report… Resources – such as additional training and guidance, as well as contacts when you have questions and Next Steps for Partners.

3 Introduction: SAVB Online Overview
SAVB is an online partner tool that will streamline the invoicing process for redeemed vouchers, reduce errors and potential for rework, speed time to payment and simplify overall voucher program management.  Existing Process New Process - SAVB Manual process through the RSC Minimal reporting No insight into payment status Automated online process Increased reporting functionality Ability to view payment pipeline (Tessa – read through and ad lib)

4 Introduction: SAVB Online Overview
SAVB Features & Benefits Create Payment Request Submit or Save View Payment Status Filter and select vouchers based on Country, Location or All. SAVB auto-calculates the payment request total amount for the selected vouchers. SAVB auto-populates partner org and payment information based on saved profiles. SAVB will prompt the User for submission of partner’s invoice (hard or soft copy) when required. User can easily review and/or edit a payment request before submitting. User has the option to Submit Now, or Save and submit the payment request later. SAVB provides a confirmation after each payment request submission, with a unique Microsoft Reference Number for easy tracking. SAVB provides a real-time view of all payment statuses, accessed through the Home Page. SAVB reminds users to submit a hardcopy invoice if required. Payments are made within 30 days of approval of valid payment request. User can easily manage how and where payments are to be received. The steps to getting paid for redeemed vouchers is EASY using the SAVB Online Tool. There are many features & benefits: SAVB is configured to be flexible to accommodate differing organizational structures. When creating a payment request, the User will be able to attach vouchers from a single location to a payment request, or attach multiple locations’ vouchers within the same country – depending on how the User wishes to segment their invoicing. SAVB will auto-calculate the total for the payment request based on your payment rate table. SAVB will retain the partner’s payment profile including where/how to send payment. Where allowable, many partners will be able to upload a soft copy of their own required invoice to SAVB, rather than fax or mail it to Microsoft. And SAVB will TELL YOU if you are required to send the RSC a hard copy. The User can submit or save their work for later in SAVB. Most importantly, the User will have access to real-time payment status for every payment request, as well as reporting.

6 Getting Started in SAVB
Steps For Existing (Active) Partners: Go to to redeem your vouchers, as usual. Access SAVB via the quick link provided in VVR, or directly at (If you access SAVB directly, you will be required to log-in using your Windows Live ID.) At SAVB’s “Registration” page, select your Organization and the Program(s) for which you are registering to use the SAVB online tool. (You will only need to register one time per program.) Proceed to the program Home Page. Partners will still use VVR as usual to reserve and redeem their SA vouchers. Once the user redeems vouchers in VVR, he/she can click on a hyperlink that will go directly to SAVB so a payment request can be created and submitted immediately (known today as your manual “invoicing” process). You can also access SAVB directly via its direct URL. Doing so requires logging in with your Windows Live ID. NOTE FOR EXISTING (ACTIVE) PARTNERS: (Explain payment profile bulk upload to SAVB and our AP back-end) For Existing (Active) Partners Your payment profile information will already be uploaded to SAVB, based upon the payment preferences and bank details you have previously provided to your RSC. After registering in SAVB, you will map your payment profile to locations using SAVB. If your payment profile does not appear or is incorrect, please contact your RSC immediately.

16 IMPORTANT NOTE: IMPORTANT NOTE!
Regarding Access to Bank Details & Payment Profile IMPORTANT NOTE: After registering in SAVB, you must WAIT hours before validating your bank information and mapping your payment profile in SAVB to your organization’s locations.  This waiting period will allow Microsoft the time necessary to create required vendor ID(s) in our automated payment system.  If after the waiting period, you are still unable to see or map your payment profile(s) in SAVB to your locations, it may be because Microsoft requires additional essential bank details or tax documentation for your organization.  If this occurs, please immediately contact the Microsoft Accounts Payable alias for your region for help:    Region MS Accounts Payable Alias EMEA China US, Canada, LATAM Korea Taiwan Japan APAC (the rest of Asia)

17 User Scenario: Map Bank Accounts

A B C B C KEY POINTS: SAVB is flexible. Here, as a Program Administrator, you have the option to set-up SAVB to accommodate payment requests paid to your Locations, OR, you can aggregate and submit payment requests covering multiple locations within the same country. In this example, you can see that Locations 1 & 2 for this Organization are mapped to the same Bank, so electronnic payments made for redeemed vouchers from either Location 1 or 2 will be made to that specified bank. However, Locations 3,4 & 5 for this Organization all map to a different bank/account. IMPORTANT NOTE: You can only combine vouchers from different locations onto the same payment request IF the payment is all going to the same bank account. D D *Note that Location 1 & 2 both map to the same bank account, while Locations 4, 5 & 6 map to a different bank account.
