4 4 Windows Live Groups Live Groups has all the online tools you need for your groups like school clubs, school organizations or project work groups. Everyone can communicate and collaborate together online using these features: Shared Group Calendar Group discussions with OneNote notebook WebApp Live Group Photos Live Group SkyDrive with 5GB of allocated storage Simple Access Management (people can access the group with an invite or by request) For more information check out: http://windowslive.com/Online/Groups

5 5 Windows Live Groups Log onto Live@edu Open your browser and go to www.outlook.comwww.outlook.com Enter your Outlook Live ID and password and click Sign in. Click the Office drop-down arrow list. Click Your Groups.

7 7 Windows Live Groups Creating a Group Click Create a Group. Enter a name into the Group name: field and click Check availability. Note: Do name your group as unique as you can so that the people that you are inviting knows that it is your group

8 8 Windows Live Groups Creating a Group (continued) If the name you have chosen is already taken you will need to choose another name. Windows Live Groups will make suggestions to help you. Note: Skip this step if your web address is already available Click Create.

11 11 Windows Live Groups Inviting people to join a group Click Invite people Enter the e-mail of the people you want to invite to join the group in the To: field (enter the email address of 2 person close to you). Note: Use a comma between two email addresses

12 12 Windows Live Groups Inviting people to join a group (continued) You can enter your own invitation message in the Include your own message field. Click Send.

13 13 Windows Live Groups Inviting people to join a group (continued) The invitations will be sent and you will return to the group home page. People who have been invited to become a member of the group will receive an invite and can accept by clicking the Join button.

14 14 Windows Live Groups Inviting people to join a group (continued) You will be able to see when a contact joins the group from the What’s new area of the group home page. The members will also appear in the membership area of the home page.

18 18 Windows Live Groups Starting a discussion with OneNote notebook WebApp (continued) To edit your text, highlight the text to be edited and use the ribbon to make your changes Note: The ribbon is similar to those found in other Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint

20 20 Windows Live Groups Starting a discussion with OneNote notebook WebApp (continued) Note: People who have accepted your invitation will be able to view and continue the discussion To view the replies, click on View Click on Show Authors You will be able to view the names of the people who have contributed to the discussions

21 21 Windows Live Groups Starting a discussion with OneNote notebook WebApp (continued) Note: You can insert Pictures, Tables and Hyperlinks to your discussion by clicking on Insert Inserting Table Inserting Pictures from your PC Inserting a weblink (hyperlink)

25 25 Windows Live Groups Sharing photos Click Photos. Click Add photos.

26 26 Windows Live Groups Sharing photos (continued) Click New album Enter a name for the album in the Name field. Click a permissions radio button depending on whether you only want members to be able to view photos, or if you want members to be able to add, edit details, and delete photos. Click Next.

27 27 Windows Live Groups Sharing photos (continued) Drag and drop your photo files into the Drop photos here field. Note: This feature is only available in Explorer 8. Or else, you can also browse to find and select photos. Click Continue or Upload. You will see a confirmation that the photo has been uploaded and the album has been created.

28 28 Windows Live Groups Sharing photos (continued) Click on your group name to return to homepage Your Album will be notified on the group homepage for group members to see

30 30 Windows Live Groups Creating a folder in Skydrive To return to the group home page click the name of your group. Click Documents.

32 32 Windows Live Groups Creating a folder in Skydrive (continued) Enter a name for the folder in the Name: field. Click the Members can view files radio button or click the Members can add, edit details, and delete files Click Next. The folder has now been created and is ready for members of the group to upload files to.

33 33 Windows Live Groups Creating a folder in Skydrive (continued) Similar to adding photos, add documents from your PC to upload them to the Skydrive to share with other members Note: The Skydrive will be able to accept all types of file. It is just like you pendrive but sharing of documents is much effective via Skydrive
