4. Who is Synology? Synology was founded in 2000 by former MS employees Cheen Liao & Phillip Wong. They wrote their original OS built off BSD using Fastora NAS hardware. Since then they have created their own hardware to work with their DSM (Disk Station Manager) software which is the heart of all Synology products. Approx. 250 employees world-wide.
