5  The Doug Henderson III Memorial Fund was founded in memory of a young man who lost his fight with cancer in 2003. But through support from family, friends, and the community, Doug’s legacy will be one of great contributions of spirit and gifts to his hometown.  In the golf tournament’s first 6 years, it has raised over $210,000 in donations that went back into Valdosta’s community.

6  At this golf tournament we helped drive the beverage carts that cater to the players. I really enjoyed serving at this tournament, because I have known the Henderson family my whole life.

7  Vallotton is a park filled with recreational fields for youth. This allows them to participate in things such as baseball, soccer, and football.

8  At Vallotton I did different jobs around the park that they needed me to do. This included working the concession stand, picking up trash after games, or working the press box.

9  By doing community service through service- learning I have gained experience in areas I would otherwise know nothing about. I have always enjoyed helping others, and this was the perfect way to do that.
