7 What is KCTCS-TRAINS? Through KCTCS Workforce Solutions, the Kentucky Skills Network is charged with educating and training Kentucky's workforce. KCTCS-TRAINS is just one incentive tool to help achieve this goal. 8 KCTCS TRAINS New & Expanding Companies: Guidelines Employment minimum requirement - Create a minimum of 10 new, full- time jobs for Kentucky residents. - Maintain an annual average of at least 10 new, full-time jobs for Kentucky residents. Investment minimum requirement - Incur capital investment costs of at least $100,000. Eligible Companies - Any business primarily engaged in manufacturing, agribusiness, regional/national headquarters or nonretail service.

10 Note: This only includes KCTCS training projects funded through KCTCS- TRAINS. Projects funded through other sources are not reflected.  44% of all workforce training provided by KCTCS in fiscal year ‘13-’14 was funded through KCTCS- TRAINS.  KCTCS Workforce Solutions provides services in almost all of Kentucky’s 120 counties each year. 13 KCTCS and The KY Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education (KY FAME) KY FAME is a partnership of regional manufacturers whose purpose is to utilize dual-track, apprenticeship-style training to create a pipeline of highly skilled workers. This is accomplished through the Advanced Manufacturing Technician pathway at KCTCS. KY FAME started in central Kentucky but regional chapters are forming throughout the state. -Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky -Montaplast North America -Florida Tile -GR Spring & Stamping -The 3M Company -Webasto Roof Systems -ED Bullard Company -Hitachi -Topy America -Commonwealth Tool -Central Motor Wheel of America -Sealing Life -Trane Manufacturing -Link-Belt Construction Equipment -Catalent Pharma Solutions -GE -Raytheon -Plus multiple others… Member Companies

14 KCTCS – Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) Example Week Classes 2 full days per week -8 -10 hours of instruction each day Work at sponsoring company 3 full days per week -8 – 10 hours per day -24 hours of paid work per week, starting at a competitive wage -Average $26,000 per year Subjects covered: Blueprint Reading; Electrical Motor Controls; PLC; Robotics; Fluid Power; Machine Tool; Welding; Industrial Maintenance, etc. Example Work Week 1 - Week MTuWTHF 8-10 Hrs Work College Work 2-4 Hrs Homework & Study

16 Work Ready certifies a community’s workforce by measuring the following criteria: High School Graduation Rates National Career Readiness Certificate Completion Community Commitment to Workforce Development Educational Attainment Soft Skill Development Internet Availability KCTCS colleges across the state have been working closely with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors as each Kentucky county strives to attain Work Ready Community Status.
