Project Wo-Men: Gender Equality Creates Democracy Project Wo-Men was created through partnership of 9 organizations from 7 European countries. Project is co-financed by European Commission Socrates Grundtvig 1 programme. This is a 3-year project: 2003 – 2006. The main aim of this project is to promote European values on gender equality and democracy through lifelong learning.

Project partners –Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman (LT) –Women's Enterprise Agency (FI) –Finnish Institute of Occupation Health (FI) –Stockport College (UK) –Group for European Integration [GIE], (RO) –ATHENA - Association for Education and Development of Women (CZ) –The State College of Education in Vienna (AT) –Association of Spread of Knowledge “Missal” (BG) Non contractual partners from four countries (PL, DE, LV, IT) are also involved in this project and take part in this conference.

I stage – I year Project partnership was established. The following products were developed: –Leaflet for dissemination. –Tools for change: good practice guide on implementation of innovative measures to promote gender equality through lifelong learning. –Comparative analysis on gender equality structures.

II stage –II year The following tasks were performed: –Needs analysis on lifelong learning training on gender equality was performed and placed into project web-site. –Survey report of Indicators of Gender Equality was drafted. –Framework of the training course curriculum on the basis of Needs analysis was created.
