1 Industrial Training Registration
~PRE-REGISTRATION~ Done by students. Go to DUE DATE: 15th March 2015  Students shall ensure that they are fully covered by insurance (personal accident) throughout the period of Industrial Training.

2 Introduction This Industrial Training (BIT3024/34) programme is a core subject to students undertaking the Bachelors of Business Administration (Honours), Bachelor of Economics (Honours), and Bachelor of Knowledge Management (Honours) programmes Objectives: Industrial training plays a vital role in preparing the students for the professional development. From the hands-on training, this course not only offers an opportunity for the students to put in practice what they have learned during lectures, but the students can gain good experience of the real career world. This subject not only fosters synergetic collaboration between industry and the university in promoting a knowledgeable society, but the process sets the stage for future recruitment by potential employers. The Industrial Training programme is for a period of continuous 12 weeks (BIT3034) from 2nd March 2015 – 22 May 2015 or 15 weeks (BIT3024) from 2nd March – 12 June 2015 throughout Trimester 3.

3 Student Progressive Reports Guidelines
Student must record their roles/responsibilities during the Industrial Training to assess whether they have fulfilled the objectives and requirements of the Industrial Training.

4 Refer to the Faculty of Business (FOB) website for the template.
Weekly report is a description (like a diary) summarizing everything you have done in that particular week. Print out the hardcopy of each weekly report to be signed and stamped by the company supervisor and attach to the final training report. the scanned copy of the weekly report to your assigned lecturer according to the schedule shown below: Progressive Report 1 is due on April 17, 2015 before 5 p.m Progressive Report 2 is due on May 25, 2015 before 5 p.m Failure to submit when requested will effect ‘FAIL’ in result.

Section 2 Employer’s Details Fill-up the details as required in both the forms Attach both of these sections in the final report as part of appendices.

7 Section 3: Details Description of Activity Report
To be fill by company supervisor Section 3: Details Description of Activity Report Student have to record their roles/responsibilities for each week in the report.

8 Progressive Report 1 = 10% Progressive Report 2 = 10%

9 Preparation of Practical Training Log Book
Section 4: Student Evaluation Form Comments from student with regards to the practical training. Attach these section in the final report as part of appendices.

11 Final Report Refer to the website for a template.
Make sure your report cover all the requirements/items as per template. (refer Table of content of the report) Include the details task given during internship. Include in your main report the various appendices of section 1 – 4 of the Weekly Reports The report must be binding and submit according to the schedule Failure to submit will effect ‘FAIL’ in result.

12 Employer’s Evaluation Form
Evaluation by the employer on the student industrial training performance appraisal. Print a copy of “Employer’s Evaluation Form” for your employer to fill up, evaluation & provides marks before the visit date by your supervisor. After the form has been completed by employer, request to place the form in a sealed envelope and hand-over the form to your supervisor on the day of his/her visit.

14 Grading Scheme The Final Report will be marked based on the following criteria: Planning and organising 25% (10 marks) Description of tasks/projects 25% (10 marks) Learning or applications of skills 25% (10 marks) Analysis and problem solving 25% (10 marks) 100% (40 marks)

15 Assignment of Supervisors
Student will be assigned to a supervisor. Please check the supervisor list that will be uploaded in the Bulletin Board as well as FOB web. Student has to register the subject BIT3024/3034 – Industrial Training latest by 2nd week of Tri /2015.

16 INDUSTRIAL TRAINING VISITATION
Towards the end of your practical training in May 2015, Supervisor will make an arrangement with student under their supervision regarding the day of their visit. Student are to arrange for a meeting between the supervisor and the employer. Prepare a location map of your work place for your supervisor prior to the visit.

17 General Terms and Conditions
It is the students’ responsibility to strictly adhere to the terms and conditions of the Industrial Training. The Faculty of Business reserves the right to terminate the students from the Industrial Training Programme if the agreement is breached. Company’s Rules and Regulation Student are required to abide by the rules, regulation and policy of the organisation pertaining to the internships program

18 General Terms and Conditions
Working Hours Student are required to follow the working hours as stated by the organisation. Please ensure punctuality. Attire Student are advise to wear proper office attire to work at all times. Discipline Student must be disciplined and abide the organisation rules and regulation at all times

19 General Terms and Conditions
Leave Student are not allowed to take annual leave during the indsutrial training period except for public holidays and holidays gazetted by State or Federal Government However, student must apply for leave other than the above (emergency case, death of an immediate family members, sick, etc) through their employer and must obtain approval from their MMU Supervisor. Leave will not be granted without valid reason.

20 General Terms and Conditions
Work Orientation Student must be prepared to accept any assignments what so ever given by the company at all times. Place of works Student are not allowed to change place of work (organisation) during the industrial training period.

21 General Terms and Conditions
Relationships Student must develop a good working relationship with their employer, supervisors, subordinates and colleagues at all times. Being the Ambassador of MMU
