The chestnuts were eaten in a strict family and was a ceremony of worship, a very serious and respectful attitude. It was believed that the brown that ate that night was a soul released from purgatory

3. In Catalonia, the night of October 31, we celebrated '' la Castanyada'' In this night everybody eat chestnuts and panellets.
