2. U.S Constitution The Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the United States The system of basic laws or rules of government, society. A document in which these laws and rules are written down. It provides the frameworks for the organization of the United States government and for the relationship of the federal government to the states, and to all the people within the Untied States.

3. Constitutional Convention To address problems on governing the United States of America It was the place: the state house of Philadelphia It took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Convention is one of the central events in history of the United States.

4. The Articles of Confederation Was the first constitution of the United States of America. The articles were created by the chosen representative of the states. The ratification process was completed in March 1781 The Articles were replaced by the US Constitution on June 21, 1788.

5. Shays’ Rebellion Shays’ Rebellion was an armed uprising in central and western Massachusetts from 1786 to 1787. It was considered the last battle of the revolution. The rebellion started on August 29 1786 and by January 1787 over 1000 Shay sites were arrested. Shays’ rebellion produced fears that the revolutions democratic impulse had “ gotten out of hand.”

6. The Preamble The Preamble is the brief introductory statement of the fundamental purposes and guiding principles that the Constitution is meant to serve. In general terms it states and courts have referred to it as reliable evidence of the founding fathers in venations regarding the constitutions meaning and what they hope they would achieve.

7. Electoral College The Electoral College consists of the popularly electe4d representatives who formally elect the President and Vice President of the United States. Since 1964 there have been 538 electors in each presidential election Rather than directly voting for the President and Vice President, United States citizens vote for electors.

8. Amending the Constitution Two-Thirds of both houses of congress vote to propose an amendment. The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution Only 27 amendments have been ratified since the constitution became effective and ten of those ratifications occurred almost immediately-as the Bill of Rights.

9. James Madison He was an American Politician and political philosopher who served as the forth president of the United States of America. Considered to be “Father of the Constitution”. He was the principle author of the document As the leader of House of Representatives Madison worked closer with president George Washington to organized the new federal government

10. 18 th and 21 st Amendments These amendments banned alcohol beverages in the untied states. It was ratified on January 16, 1919 and reapplied by the 21 st amendment in 1933 In the over 200 years of the U.S. Constitution the 18 th amendment remains the only amendment to ever have been reapplied. It started in Georgia in 1742.
