3. THE YOUNGEST CHAMPION Mike showed an interest in boxing, his talents were seen by Cus D’Amato a popular boxing trainer. Cus was impressed and said with his training mike will be the youngest heavyweight champion of the world. Cus adopted Mike and began training him.

4. YOUNG STATISTICS Mike was the 1981 and 1982 Junior olympic champion defeating every opponent by knockout. Mike began his professional boxing career at the age of 18. He had not lost a fight from 1985-1989

5. ROAD TO THE TOP Mikes winning streaks have lead him from a young junior Olympic champion to the number one contender in boxing. Sadly along the way Mike had lost his dearest trainer and father figure Cus D’ Amato. Cus always said mike would be the youngest world champion and a year after Cus’ death mike was in the ring fighting for the heavyweight title. Mike became the first “Undisputed Champion”

6. SPINKS VS. TYSON This fight is the fight that defines mike Tyson’s career. Mike defeated Spinks before the bout started. Nothing would stop him

7. WHO IS TO BLAME? Mikes out of ring antics really hurt his image. His marriage was controlled, and he was accused of beating his wife. He was convicted of rape. He did not understand trust or a father figure since Cus. He fired those who helped him and started a downhill slide.

8. WHY IS HE ONE OF THE BEST In his career Tyson was 50-6 with 44 knockouts He was the street fighter of boxing. He brought a different exciting look to the sport of boxing. The baddest man on the planet. In the ring was where every thing made sense Mike was so good because he can never be figured out physically and mentally.

9. WHAT MAKES TYSON; TYSON Mike may be looked at as a bad person He also may be looked at as one of the greatest athletes to grace the planet Do his accomplishments in the ring make him who he is? Is he not the best because of things that had nothing to do with boxing? What makes a person admirable to you?
