© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 2 AquaProbe Product launch presentation Introduction  There is no new water on Earth - all the water there ever will be is already here  *The monetary value of Non revenue Water is estimated to be valued at over $18 billion per year  Water production and treatment companies globally are major consumers of energy  Accurate measurement of water is becoming increasingly important:  Future abundant supply of water cannot be guaranteed  Increased pressures caused by rising populations *Global Water Intelligence, Water Technology Markets 2010

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 3 AquaProbe Package  AquaProbe has become the insertion type portable flowmeter of choice, setting the industry standard and being found in demanding applications everywhere  It is the acknowledged, accurate and economic alternative to full bore metering  AquaProbe now works with WaterMaster transmitter and is known as AquaProbe FEA100  AquaProbe also works with AquaMaster 3 transmitter where it is known as AquaProbe FEA200, extending the choice of power supply options from traditional mains and battery power to renewable energy options

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 4 AquaProbe basic concept  Insertion Type Flowmeter  Rugged & Robust Construction  ‘Hot Tap’ Capability  Good Accuracy over Wide Flow Range  Price Virtually Independent of Pipe Size  Suitable for Permanent or Temporary Installations  No Moving Parts – High Reliability  Choice of Transmitters and Power Supply Options

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 5 AquaProbe Specification  Suitable for pipe diameters from 200mm to 8000mm  Accuracy ±2% of Measured Velocity (or ±2mm/sec) whichever is greater  Bi-Directional  For Clean Water Only

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 6 Product positioning  The two versions of the AquaProbe are positioned as two separate products  Many water applications today are in large lines and require accurate measuring devices to monitor water usage. The AquaProbe family provides a cost effective alternative to full-bore meters, as well as an option to perform surveys on existing lines and meters  With the flexibility that both AquaProbe models provide for temporary and permanent installations, this insertion probe flowmeter is a valuable addition to ABB’s comprehensive line of flow measurement products

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 7 Product positioning  The AquaProbe FEA100 is more suited to permanent installations, because it is primarily a mains operated unit  It is a robust and cost effective flowmeter that is especially well-suited to large pipe diameters  With 4 -20mA, Profibus DP v1 and HART communication outputs as options, the AquaProbe can easily be integrated with other existing instruments

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 8 Product positioning  The AquaProbe FEA200 is far more suited to operate as a temporary flowmeter, because of its battery powered option facilitates it’s use as a field monitoring device  With the built in logging function, the unit can be installed in series with an existing flowmeter to monitor the flowmeter over a period of time  The built in logging function allows flow and pressure data to be collected for analysis and evaluation. The option of transmitting data via SMS, removes the need to visit the unit regularly.

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 9  AquaProbe FEA200 can be remotely located and is capable of sending data anywhere & anytime  AquaProbe FEA200 has 3 power modes based on specific customer requirements:  Mains-powered with SuperCap back-up  Battery-powered  External renewable (solar/wind) energy with SuperCap back-up  AquaProbe FEA200 with mains power offers built-in rechargeable Super Capacitor power source  Operation for up to 5 days without power (dependent on operating conditions), with no batteries to replace  Continuous SMS operation  In the event of mains interruption, continuous measurement is maintained and alarms reported via SMS protocols To help you sell AquaProbe FEA200 – mains power

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 10  AquaProbe FEA200 battery powered option offers a choice of battery options  Battery only – external manganese alkaline battery pack  0°C to 45°C (32 to 113°F)  Typical 5 year battery life  Battery only – external lithium battery pack  +45°C ambient temperatures & option of a 10 year battery life Smooth battery replacement  AquaProbe FEA200 sustains the logger (for minutes) before logger data contents are lost enabling smooth switchover  No loss of logger data during battery replacement  Provided ‘SuperCap’ capacitor is still charged To help you sell AquaProbe FEA200 – battery power, no data loss

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 11  AquaProbe FEA200 renewable option offers access to solar and wind energy source with a simple DC (6-21V) connection from panel or generator  No external rechargeable batteries required  No external regulators  Very simple installation  The availability of a rechargeable ‘SuperCap’ permits direct connection of solar power and other renewable power source to transmitter  The ‘SuperCap’ powers the transmitter during the night or during lack of power for up to 3 weeks (dependant on operating conditions) To help you sell AquaProbe FEA200 – renewable energy (solar / wind)

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 12  AquaProbe FEA200 solar powered option offers access to free, clean and inexhaustible energy source with a simple DC (6-21V) connection from solar panel or generator  No external rechargeable batteries required  No external regulators  Very simple installation  The rechargeable ‘SuperCap’ permits direct connection of solar power and other renewable power sources to the transmitter  The ‘SuperCap’ powers the transmitter during the night or during a power interruption for up to 3 weeks (dependant on operating conditions) To help you sell AquaProbe FEA200 – wind power

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 13 To help you sell AquaProbe FEA100/ FEA200  ‘Hot tap’ capability so that it can be installed quickly, easily and conveniently, without interrupting the water supply. The meter can initially be installed via a hot tap system, under full working pressure conditions, without the need to shut down the system. Thereafter the meter can be inserted & removed under pressure  Ease of Operation fitting to existing pipelines without the need for the major, expensive and time consuming excavations or alterations associated with full bore meters. The ability of the AquaProbe to be installed in remote locations with its battery power supply makes it simple to install in the most arduous of environments

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 14 To help you sell AquaProbe FEA100/ FEA200  ‘Unrivalled on Accuracy. The accuracy and consistency of measurement of the AquaProbe is why it’s the insertion flowmeter of choice for many water and waste water companies  At +/- 2% of Rate, which can be maintained for years without the need for recalibration, the meter exhibits exemplary accuracy over a wide operating flow range in both forward and reverse directions. This means that it is highly versatile instrument, both for peak daytime and low night time flow rates  Speed, ease & security in the field, Sensor Memory eliminates the need to match sensor and transmitter in the field. Self configuration sequence eases start-up

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 15 To help you sell AquaProbe FEA100/ FEA200  True Choice of Power Source.  What could be better than having the flexibility to use mains, battery or renewable energy, depending on the choice of transmitter.  A choice of power options ranging from battery power with a ten year life  For an installation in remote locations where an external supply would be problematic  Through to mains power with SuperCap backup

© ABB Group May 20, 2015 | Slide 16 To help you sell AquaProbe FEA100/ FEA200  AquaProbe coding  AquaProbe is specified using new product codes in line with ABB common coding  AquaProbe will be coded as FEA and the transmitter will either be FEA100 For AquaProbe with WaterMaster transmitter or  FEA200 for AquaProbe with AquaMaster 3 transmitter  Below is an extract of how coding appears AquaProbe FEA100 AquaProbe FEA200
