2 Accountability – Power of PEIMS
Funding: State and Federal Accountability : PBMAS Ensure accurate PEIMS codes for CTE courses – Co22 Table (Middle School, Exploring Careers) Use 4 year plans in determining PEIMS coding for students

3 District must code CTE students participation correctly on the PEIMS 101 record in the fall and summer reporting. Description of Students CTE Participation Code to be used on PEIMS 101 Record Not enrolled in a CTE course Enrolled in one CTE course ( a CTE participant, 6-12) 1 CTE coherent sequence taker (CTE concentrator, Coherent sequence is defined as two or more CTE courses for three or more credits) 2

4 CTE Snap Shots – PEIMS Recording and Procedures
PEIMS recording is done twice a year, Submission 1 in the Fall, and Submission 3 during the Spring. CTE coordinator will code students either a 0 or a 1 depending on CTE student enrollment. All middle CTE teacher rosters are pulled and currently enrolled students are coded individually. Because of the nature of middle school scheduling, submission 3 is done during the 5th six weeks to capture those students who were not enrolled during the fall submission snapshot date. For example, campuses that have students enrolled in CTE courses every other 6 weeks are captured during the 2nd six weeks, then again during the 5th six weeks. This allows for all students to be captured and coded accurately. Fatal reports are run periodically and a copy will be provided to all middle school assistant principals in charge of PEIMS. If you have any questions regarding coding, please contact the CTE Coordinator at
