2 Orientation Scavenger Hunt Show student's Scavenger Hunt Sheet. Show the blue labels and explain about the letters that are added with a visa vie marker. Give examples of phrases that are "discovered" when all blanks are filled.

4 How to get books returned at end of year Wall charts for grade level and teacher Students earned an extra recess if their books were turned in. Students earned a candy bar when they turned in their books. The Library Fairy collects books & hands out candy bars.

6 Fiction Call Numbers Review location information while classroom teacher assigns partners. Using red and green "bookmarks" students play a game to practice locating books. Starting with red markers, partners locate the book and put the red marker in it. Then they tell the teacher and they receive a point. Get another red marker from the LMS until all are gone. Then give green markers. When students find the books there should be a red marker there. They bring the red and green markers back to the LMS and get another point. They continue finding books with the green markers until all markers are returned. Check to see "how we did". Watermelon cheer for the top three finder pairs, cantelope cheer for everyone else. Also, recognize a couple of pairs that worked well as a team.

7 Dictionary Drills Purpose: to allow students to practice finding words in the dictionary. Using dictionaries, students will find various words as they compete in teams.
