2 HELLO & WELCOME -Housekeeping -Agenda -Aims for today: -To give delegates an update on the current activity & timescales -To provide delegates with a better understanding of partnership working & lead partner consortia -To create a forum for networking & meet potential partners -To give delivery partners an opportunity to speak to potential lead partners

9 STRONG FOUNDATIONS ARE A NECESSITY!

10 This is not an overnight process! Important Considerations to be made Begin with like-minded organisations – Explore Ideas Ensure potential partners are the RIGHT partners Start conversations with key stakeholders Outline a Project Plan Get approval from Board Members / Trustees to ‘pursue in principle’ Develop a formal Project Plan Ensure all parties are aware of their role & responsibilities Get agreement for Board Members & Trustees (document it) Sign Partnership Agreements

12 Roles & Responsibilities: NB: We are awaiting formal guidance from Big Lottery LEAD PARTNERS 1.Coordinate compliance to any contract 2.Oversee collection, quality & presentation of monitoring & performance information 3.Identify & address any performance failures or quality variations 4.Ensure member trustee boards receive information as required 5.Develop & manage appropriate databases to ensure transparent, accessible & appropriate information is collated 6.Monitor any external factors that may affect the consortium or its delivery 7.Coordinate & manage communications 8.Maintain relationships with funders including negotiations of any proposed variances to the agreement 9.Lead on marketing the success & work of the consortium 10.Prepare reports to funders 11.Be responsible for the finances associated with the project – control & manage cash flow 12.Take on the majority of the Risk!

13 Roles & Responsibilities: NB: We are awaiting formal guidance from Big Lottery DELIVERY PARTNERS 1.DELIVER! 2.Ensure your organisation’s compliance to any contract as per agreement 3.Collect & present monitoring & performance information to lead partner (LP) 4.Identify & address any performance failures or quality variations with LP 5.Ensure your trustee board is kept informed of progress 6.Comply with LP databases to ensure transparent, accessible & appropriate information is collated 7.Maintain relationships with LP and ensure communication is regular & transparent – respond within appropriate timescales 8.Contribute to marketing the success & work of the consortium 9.Be responsible for your organisation’s finances associated with the project – control & manage cash flow & present accounts to LP when requested as agreed in partnership agreement 10.Monitor your KPI’s associated with the project

14 While your organisation has its own part to play in an agreement – remember the benefits of working together & that each organisation must contribute & support the others to be successful.

15 PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS Can soon become Dis-Agreements if you don’t get it right! Should Include: Purpose or aim of the partnership Who the Lead Organisation is Details of each partner organisation Financial & contractual arrangements Roles & Responsibilities Policies & Procedures Administration, meetings & record keeping Monitoring & Reporting Communication Branding Changes to the agreement & its duration Sustainability Signed Declarations
