Peter Spiller, IHEP, Protvino GSI, 15.1.08  The overall general machine layout has been completed and is fixed  The detailled technical design (production readiness) of the components has not been completed (specifications: partly functional and partly detailled)  In a cold machine all components have to be planned as a whole (in contrary to a warm machine) > The cryomagnetic system (85 % of the circumference)  Next step is to finalize the technical design in detail by a consortium, joint venture or similar of those who expressed their interest

Peter Spiller, IHEP, Protvino GSI, 15.1.08  The present work package structure of the cryomagnetic system (dipoles, quadruples, etc.) may be one option but may not be the most appropriate to the technical capabilities and wishes of all partners  An alternative work sharing structure of the cryomagnetic system should be considered among the potential partners, those who have expressed an interest in the components

Peter Spiller, IHEP, Protvino GSI, 15.1.08 There are many components identical and used in several machines (number of components to be produced): e.g. Rf acceleration cavities : SIS100, SIS300, NESR Cold BPMs: SIS100, SIS300 S.C. Magnets: SIS300, HEBT Beam diagnostics: e.g. Residual Gas Profile Monitor: SIS100.SIS300. CR, RESR, NESR

Peter Spiller, IHEP, Protvino GSI, 15.1.08  Global machine drawings at GSI (Mutual interactions of machines, Interface to civil construction, Integration of components etc.)  Integration of each component design continously needs to be checked during the design process and especially before production start  The active partners in consortia in the pre-production (component design finalization) phase may be different to the production phase

Peter Spiller, IHEP, Protvino GSI, 15.1.08 In order to assure maintenance, service and reliability (fast repair in case of fail funtcions) a number of parts for technical components must be purchased centrally for the inkind responsibles e.g. interfaces to a common control system, cryogenic valves, UHV pumps, interfaces to media supply Table has to be generated and approved
