2  CREATE A COMMON UNDERSTANDING OF RTI ACROSS THE DISTRICT AND WORK COLLABORATIVELY TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF ALL STUDENTS. Scope 2 Make revisions to the existing RtI document. Attend conferences for professional learning. Read current books from Mike Mattos, leader in the RtI process. Visit successful existing RtI programs in nearby schools. Prepare group members to share the vision of these initiatives and discuss feedback of buildings. Develop a RtI implementation framework. Team members have attended two RtI workshops presented by nationally renowned RtI expert Mike Mattos. A one day workshop held at OCC A three day RtI Institute in Dallas, Tx.

3 WHAT WAS THE IMPACT OF THE BUCKET WORK? Impact 3 Staff will develop a common understanding of RtI across all buildings with the newly revised RtI district plan. Increase awareness by disseminating information around the dynamics of implementing Professional Learning Communities and RtI Intervention blocks. Establish a framework from which grade levels and teachers can work collaboratively in teams to conduct data analysis, share strategies, and develop a targeted intervention plan. Enable teachers to be able to intervene and provide systemic interventions to students before they fall behind.

4 Challenges and Triumphs 4 Changing district culture from existing practice and mindset to a culture of shared responsibility based on collaboration and data analysis. Implementing a cohesive RtI plan to a district of our size; including scheduling and time for collaboration. Diverse team representing K-9. Some buildings already starting data discussions on student strengths and weaknesses and shifting thinking from “my students” to “our students”.

5 WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR ONGOING COMMUNICATION AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE WORK? Sustainability 5 The implementation of district wide and building wide data groups are imperative to the sustainability and success of RtI. Teachers NEED consistent time on a regular basis to meet and discuss student progress, growth and strategies.
