3 Missouri Policy Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MO DESE) Supports MO SW-PBS by: –Financing 32 positions –Relying on initiative as State Performance Plan (SPP) improvement activity for numerous SPP indicators –Commitment of human and financial resources to support School Data Profile (SDP) online data collection system for MO SW-PBS schools/districts –Promotion of SW-PBS through Department assistant commissioners (letters to superintendents, presentations to stakeholders, collaboration with Missouri Department of Mental Health to promote 3-tiered models across agencies –Dedicating funds and personnel to plan, prepare and conduct summer regional trainings and statewide institute.

9 Scope & Sequence Development Scope & Sequence aligns standardized curriculum content with phases of implementation: –Exploration & Adoption –Preparation (building schoolwide and data systems) –Emerging 1 (first year implementing with students) –Emerging 2 (increase DOK and classroom strategies) –Tier 2 (build Tier 2 teams, data systems, interventions) –Tier 3(under development across 3 levels) Specialized information related to cultural diversity, family involvement, mental health, administrator skills and RtI embedded throughout

11 Dissemination Examples Participation in state dissemination: – 3-tiered initiatives collaboration through MO DESE working group –School Mental Health Advisory Panel –RtI workshops held in regional centers –Data Team Training Presentations at national and state conferences: –MO principals, superintendents, school board and guidance counselors’ conferences; Character Education, Professional Learning Communities –National Staff Development Council, APBS Collaboration with Missouri Children's Psychiatric Services and Developmental Disabilities & Kansas Institute of Positive Behavior Supports (KIPBS) to develop multi-level Tier 3 training modules
