Summary of the Plot Lucy Szabo, A 16-y.o. diabetic, goes through the hardest part of her life yet. She goes deeper and deeper into the Goth style, and everyone worries about her. What adds to their stress is the fact that Lucy doesn’t keep track of her blood sugar, so she has about 6-7 insulin reactions (when her blood sugar is too low/high) a week. Lucy is also “taking a semester off” of school, thus causing her to get grounded. In the end, she has a reaction while out one night and “snail,” her blood sugar in the 800’s.
3
Conflict/Resolution The conflict is that Lucy won’t communicate enough to the people who love her, and they’re worrying about her. The resolution is that after her deadliest insulin reaction, Lucy turns her life around for the better.

My Personal Opinion Sweetblood is the perfect book for those who are into real or semi-real hectic life drama. Also for those who like vampires and teen-Goth style.
