Plantation life  Owners and overseers abused slaves and slaves lived in bad housing conditions  Different jobs included work on the fields to harvest crops, complete chores in the master’s house and around the plantation  Plantations were self-sufficient (able to provide for itself without any outside help)  Most of the white population did not own plantations with slaves

4 II. Triangular trade  Exchange of goods and people between Europe, West Africa and the Americas – 17 th and 19 th centuries  Slave trade, raw materials and manufactured goods (products that are made by workers from raw materials)
