Mr E & the Three Bears Based on the fairy story of Goldilocks, retold by 1/2H at Penrith PS, 2010

Once upon a time there were three bears. They went for a walk in the forest.

Along came a hungry teacher named Mr E. Mr E came into the bears’ house and ate the porridge from the biggest bowl. “That’s just right for me,” he said.

“Ooooh, I think I ate too much.” x

Mr E sat in Father Bear’s big chair. “Ooooh, I don’t feel well...”

“That chair was just right for me.” x

Mr E felt tired and went up the stairs. x

Baby Bear’s bed was too little. Mother Bear’s bed was too soft. M F B

Mr E got into Father Bear’s bed. “This is just right for me!” x F

Later on, the three bears came home. x

They saw that Father Bear’s porridge was gone. x

Baby Bear said, “Ha! Ha!” x

The bears saw that Father Bear’s chair was broken. x

Baby Bear said, “Ha! Ha!” x

The bears went upstairs and saw Mr E asleep, snug and snoring. “Grrrrrrrr!” growled the bears. F

Baby Bear said, “Ha! Ha!” Mr E said, “Shhhh! I’m trying to sleep. I must have been sleepwalking.”

Mr E ran out of the house. x

When Mr E went outside, he saw a girl with golden hair. “Don’t go in there!” he yelled. “It’s a house of bears!” The end.
