2.  The nature of the world when He shall return  Something to bear in mind – 1 Thess. 5:1-3  “Unreadiness” barely describes the state many shall be in  But by then it will be all too late – 2 Pet. 3:10-12

3.  The text plainly tells us – Luke 17:22-25  Even to His closest disciples He did not shy away from heeding caution  Warning that disobedience is rewarded with God’s wrath – Rom. 2:6-8  And how critical it is to be ready for His coming – Mark 13:34-37

4.  Christ could have mentioned several Old Testament people; why single out Lot’s wife?  She was religiously privileged – 2 Pet. 2:7-8  Are we any different?  But having privileges alone will not save your soul! – Heb. 10:19-22

5. People everywhere need to take advantage of the time they have before Christ returns. This means hearing God’s word and following it. Jesus’ warning should keep us in remembrance of what high eternal stakes are at risk!
