II. The Passover Exodus 12 Final plague – death of the firstborn of the household Applying the blood of the Passover lamb Exodus 12:5-7 Sheep or goat with no defects Slaughter the lamb Smear the blood on the door frames of the house – a bundle of hyssop branches (12:22)

Exodus 12:22 (NLT) 22 Drain the blood into a basin. Then take a bundle of hyssop branches and dip it into the blood. Brush the hyssop across the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses. And no one may go out through the door until morning.
