1 Date Learning Objectives: To complete the fifth paragraph. Continuing Coursework Copy the title and objective and do the starter. 10 minutes!! Starter: Read from the middle of page 46, when Eddie enters drunk, to the bottom of page 47 to refresh your memory for writing today’s paragraph.

2 Fifth paragraph Mention how Eddie enters the house drunk in Act Two Evidence to include: Stage directions describing Eddie: ‘He is unsteady, drunk.’ Explain what Eddie might be feeling and how being drunk might affect him.

3 Fifth paragraph Mention how Eddie reacts to Rodolfo and Catherine having slept together. Evidence to include: Stage directions describing Catherine: ‘Catherine enters from bedroom; under his gaze she adjusts her dress.’ Explain why you think Catherine adjusts her dress when Eddie watches her. Explain Eddie’s feelings for Catherine.

4 Fifth paragraph Mention how Eddie reacts to Rodolfo and Catherine having slept together. Evidence to include: Stage directions describing Catherine: ‘Catherine enters from bedroom; under his gaze she adjusts her dress.’ Stage directions when Eddie finds out: ‘Rodolfo appears in the bedroom doorway, Eddie sees him and his arm jerks slightly in shock.’ Explain why you think Catherine adjusts her dress when Eddie watches her. Explain how Eddie must have felt when he finds out.

5 Fifth paragraph Mention how Eddie kisses Catherine. Evidence to include: The first kiss: ‘He reaches out suddenly, draws her to him, and as she strives to free herself he kisses her on the mouth.’ Explain why you think Eddie suddenly does this (what state is he in? how does he feel about her?)
