Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Cover Page For MAPS General Information for all products Cover page must include the following: Your Name: Title of Product: Term: School Year: Class: Teacher: Ms. Wigfall You can put a graphic on the cover, if you choose.

Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Directions For MAPS Do a product on maps. Use real maps to illustrate your information. Proceedure: 1.) Make at least 6 references to the key words using maps. See my two samples. 2.Create a real life situation as defined. Make sure you include all of the information from the table of contents. 7 Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Given Problem: Maps GIVEN Problem TO DO: Use maps to illustrate how the key words below can be represented on maps through the presence of the angles and lines. What kinds of angles are formed when lines intersect? Include the types of angles that might be formed by two intersecting lines. Give, at least, 6 map references. ( see 2 samples given ) Refer to the sample provided in this guideline! ! ! Include A REAL LIFE SITUATION related to someone traveling in areas along your one of your maps. Make sure you use key words to explain your travels. THE REAL LIFE SITUATION IS A VERY IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE PRODUCT. You could use the distance formula to explain the related math. MAKE IT GOOD AND MATHEMATICALY CORRECT. Your product should KEY WORDS: - perpendicular - vertical angles - straight angles (180 0 ) - right angles (90 0 ) - parallel lines - intersecting lines - transversal - adjacent angles - congruent - collinear - various sized angles - other information as applicable. complementary angles supplementary angles

Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Sample Use of Two Key Words Perpendicular Definition: Two lines that form a 90 degree angle at the intersection. Reference: Trapelo Road is perpendicular to Winter Street between Route 95 and Lincoln Street. Vertical Angles Definition: Two non adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines. Reference: Route 2 forms vertical angles with route 95 between Trapelo Road and N Great Rd. M<1=M<3 and M<2=M<4 Route 95 MAPS <1 <3 <2 <4

Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Reflection About MAPS Product Reflection should be about one or two paragraphs. -Tell about what you learned from the project. -Tell about the process you used to complete the project. -Tell how doing this product may affect your future learning.

Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Scor e All of the written information provided in the paper demonstrates an exceptional level of writing skills. The graphics and written information, used together, illustrate a very high level of combining writing, graphics and math to explain mathematical concepts. Most of the written information provided in the paper demonstrates a good level of writing skills. The graphics and written information, used together, illustrate a good level of combining writing, graphics and math to explain mathematical concepts. The written information provided in the paper demonstrates a low level of writing skills. The graphics and written information, used together, illustrates a low level of combining writing, graphics and math to explain mathematical concepts.
