Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall About Pythagorean Theorem At least two paragraphs Include information about the following: - Pythagoras the man (the time ) - How he found the theorem, including his problems with decimals - the theorem - right triangles - legs (sides) - hypotenuse - the Pythagorean Triples - How to use the theorem
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Math Illustration Using Grid Paper For Pythagorean Theorem Include at least two illustrations. In class, you should cut and paste grid paper illustrations for to help yourself understand how the theorem works. Page must include the theorem written out. Math related to your graphic should be included. Illustrations should include numbers with the grids. Page must indicate the hypotenuse as the largest side. Page must indicate the right angles with angle boxes. More than one page can be used for this illustration, if you choose.
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Math Examples For Pythagorean Theorem Page must include at least two math examples done out using the theorem. The powers can be done on the computer. I am available to help you. Students should help each other as they learn each needed skill. a 2 + b 2 = c 2 Problem must be neatly presented. Given examples must be identified. Equal signs should be lined up. Solution and steps must be clear.
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Chart of Pythagorean Triples Page must be completely typed in a table. Triples can be sets multiplied to get others or charts of different triples. Page must include an explanation about the Pythagorean Triples. Page must include at least one chart or table of the triples..
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall REAL LIFE SITUATION For Pythagorean Theorem One or more paragraphs typed with a graphic illustration Write about a real life use of the theorem. Illustration can be a picture from clip art, your own drawing, any digitized picture or a picture cut out and pasted onto paper. Etc. USE MATH TO EXPLAIN YOUR ILLUSTRATION.
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Reflection About Project Reflection should be about 3 paragraphs. 1.) Tell about what you learned from the project. 2.) Tell about the process you used to complete the project. 3.) Tell how doing this product may affect your future learning.
Guidelines/Grading Rubric Provided by Ms. Wigfall Grading Rubric (Provided by Ms. Wigfall) Pythagorean Theorem Research Project Score All of the graphics and the information provided in the project reflect an exceptional degree of student creativity in their creation and/or display. Most of the graphics and the information provided in the project reflect student creativity in their creation and/or display. The graphics and the information are provided by the student, but some of it is based on the designs or ideas of others.
