6 Rubric Based Assessment Rubric = a scoring tool for subjective assessment. A rubric contains a set of performance indicators. PI’s = A set of statements that can be used to rate students achievements. Benchmark A threshold of 2.4 out of 4 (or equivalently 60%) Outcomes score < 60 % required corrective action(s) Outcomes score > 60 % optional actions (suggestions for improvement )

22 Weighted Scores for the full Cycle

23 Closing the Loop for the first three-year cycle: 1. All outcomes have passing scores. 2. The score of all outcomes are higher than 2.8/4, except for outcomes (a) and (h) (i.e. 2.72 and 2.67) 3. These two results are satisfactory, need some actions for improvement. 4. Due to the relatively low performance in EE340 for outcome (a) and EE380 and EE360 for outcome (h). 5. PAC asked the concerned departmental groups for feedback and suggestions.

26 Modifications The PAC has decided to adopt a modified score levels as follows: Scores 2.8-to-4 are Highly Satisfactory. Scores 2.4-to-2.79 are Satisfactory. Scores 2.0-to-2.39 are Marginally Satisfactory. Scores below 2.0 are Unsatisfactory.
