1 Performance Assessment SUSD PE and Wellness Policy 2013-2014

2 Measures & Assessments *PEP 11: 3 GPRA, 1 Priority, and 7 Project *PFT: 6 assessments reported for grades 5, 7, & 9 * PEP-Physical Education Program and PFT-Physical Fitness Test are activities that align with Sanger Unified School District’s Wellness Policy. * The Sanger Unified School District’s Wellness Policy was adopted in 4/24/2007. Revisions to the policy have been made 9/27/2011 and 5/27/2014.

Such project timelines and assessments align with wellness activities from the SUSD Wellness Policy

4 Increase the percentage of students who engage in 60 minutes of daily physical activity to 75% of students as measured by pedometers (all grades) and 3 Day Physical Activity Recall (3DPAR) instrument for 5-12. 4% increase between baseline and year one 1% decrease between year one and year two 3% overall growth

5 Increase the percentage of students who achieve age-appropriate cardio fitness levels by 10% per year (30% over 3 years) as measured by the 20- meter shuttle run 20 % increase between baseline and year one Stagnant between year one and year two 20% growth overall

10 At least 90% of students will have defined personal goals for physical fitness by the end of the third project year. 76% to 100% from year one to year two 24% increase from year one to year two Goals are created via student/teacher collaboration ROBUST provides goals based off of sex, height, weight, and age

11 Positive social and cooperative skills will be developed through physical activity as measured by a 75% increase in physical activity participation over three years. Baseline: 1,892 Year one: 2,910 Year two: 4,425 Walk to School, Student Walking Clubs, Health Ambassadors, School Wellness Committee Members, Scout Island Challenge, Pentathlon, Fitness Challenge,Blossom Trail Run, Fruit and Veggie Fest, and Health Fair

12 All (100% of) district P.E. instructors and specialists will be using a standards-based physical education curriculum by the end of the third project year. 100% Elementary: Game Day & Dairy Council Standards: National/CA PE & CCSS Secondary: SPARK & Dairy Council Standards: National/CA PE & CCSS

13 At least 90% of district P.E. instructors and specialists will increase their knowledge of and best practices in physical education. 52% to 56% from year one to year two 4% growth from year one to year two Year one included PE standards Year two included CCSS

14 At least 50% of non-PE teachers will incorporate the use of regular movement into the curriculum. Criteria: An average of 5 minutes or more per day (cannot include recess/PE) 8% increase from baseline to year one 5 % increase from year one to year two
