6 blatant adj You use blatant to describe something bad that is done in an open or very obvious way. 6

7 blatant adj blatantly adv The judge listening to Susan B. Anthony blatantly lied. The girl’s action was blatant when she stole the scarf. She wanted people to notice her when she stole the scarf. 7

8 inadvertent or blatant Charles ran out the door to catch the school bus and knocked over a potted plant. Was the act inadvertent or blatant? Charles didn’t want to get in trouble so he said that the dog knocked over the potted plant though Charles was covered in dirt. Was the lie inadvertent or blatant? 8

15 fortitude noun When you have fortitude, you have the strength of mind required to withstand hardship. 15

16 fortitude noun Susan B. Anthony exhibited great fortitude when she spent 20 years fighting for the right to vote. 16

17 fortitude noun Diana Nyad demonstrated tremendous fortitude when you completed a swim from Cuba to Florida in shark infected water. At 64 years old after 4 failed attempts, Diana swam for 53 hours without a shark cage that other swimmers had used. 17
