1. NEW PUPIL AT SCHOOL Scene 1
Narrador: One Friday morning at Julio Gurriarán school.
Teacher: Good morning children.
Pupils: Good morning teacher.
Teacher: How are you today?
Pupils: Fine, thank you, anyway.
Teacher: Sheila, what’s the weather like today?
Sheila: It’s sunny and hot everywhere.
Teacher: Well, and now tell me Tania the planets you know.
Tania: I know Saturn, Earth and Pluto
Teacher: O.K. Tania, but tell me some more.
Tania: Sorry, teacher but I don’t know more.

2. Teacher: Well, Santi helps Tania to say us all.
Santi: I don’t know teacher, sorry I don’t.
Teacher: Angela, Maite what about you both?
Angela, Maite: We don’t know teacher, sorry we don’t.
Teacher: And the rest of the class, please tell me the solar system. I’m sure you remember all.
All: We don’t know teacher, sorry we don’t.
Teacher: I have to think of something to make you remember the solar system and all the planets.
Teacher: Let me think, let me think. I’ve got a song for you. Let’s sing.
(The music sounds. The teacher tries to place the children as planets around the sun).

3. Teacher: Maite, you’ll be Mercury. Come here.
Angela, you’ll be Venus. Come here.
Sheila, you’ll be the Earth. Come here
David, you’ll be Mars. Come here.
Jenni, you’ll be Jupiter. Come here.
Santi, you’ll be Saturn. Come here.
Sheila: Sorry teacher, Am I Venus?
Angela Sorry Sheila, but Venus it’s me.
Santi: Sorry teacher, Am I Jupiter?
Jenni: Sorry Santi, but Jupiter it’s me.
Teacher: Oh Lord!!! What a mess!!!
Juanjo, you’ll be Uranus. Come here. Pablo you’ll be Neptune, Andrea Pluto. And Sonia you’ll be the Moon. Lucía and Tania the rings of Saturn….

4. Pablo: Sorry teacher, Am I Uranus?
Juanjo: Sorry Pablo, but Uranus it’s me.
Sonia: Sorry teacher, Am I Pluto?
Andrea: Sorry Sonia, but Pluto it’s me.
Teacher: Stop children, stop. Everybody ready, steady go…
(The music is louder now)
Teacher: Stop, I forgot the sun.
Scene 2
Narrator: Somebody knocks at the door
All: Come in!
(A new pupil comes into the class.)
Teacher: Good morning, what’s your name?
New pupil: Sorry, I don’t understand.

5. Teacher: My name is Ana, her name is Lucía, his name is Pablo… What’s your name?
New pupil: My “lake” is Brais.
Everybody laughs.
Teacher: O.K. Come in and sing with us the SOLAR SYSTEM SONG.
Place in the middle, you’ll be the Sun.
Everybody look at me, sing along and dance like this.
The music sounds… Brais gets lost

Venus is like a star. It brights a lot
Earth is where we live…with animals and plants. With all of them, we can be friends.
Jupiter is the biggest planet.
Saturn has beautiful rings made of ice and rock.
Uranus and Neptune are far away
And Pluto is not a planet any more.

7. Narrator: Brais doesn’t know the solar system song and everybody laughs at him.
When the class goes up he goes down, when the class turns right he turns left…
The bell rings.
Scene 3
Narrator: Everybody plays, but Brais is alone at the corner.
Sheila realizes that Brais is on his own.
Sheila: I’ve got an idea. Come here please.
(They make a circle and talk slowly. Then they go to Brais’ corner.)
Sheila: Hi, why are you sad?
Brais: Sorry I don’t know, I don’t understand.
Juanjo: Don’t worry Brais we are friends now.
All: And all of us want to help you.
Tania: You’ll be a mirror. Do what we do.

8. Wave your arms like this Shake your head like that

9. All: Well done Brais!!!
Santi: the bell, let’s go to class
Scene 4
Teacher: Children, stop. The solar system song.
Brais you’ll be the Sun.
Brais: (very shy).Sorry teacher, I don’t know, I don’t understand
Tania: (winking an eye). Don’t worry. Remember up-down/right-left
Brais: Oh! Yes!! Thanks.
(Brais goes to the middle and performs the song very well.)

10. SONG “The solar system”
Narrator: This time Brais does it very well.
All: Congratulations!!!
Maite: How happy you are!!
Brais: Yes, I’m happy. I really am.
