3 Iron Laundry by Hand 1. Set the temperature of the iron to match the type of fabric. 2. Spread the item on the ironing board. 3. Use your hand to smooth out the wrinkles. 4. Move the iron back and forth several times over the fabric until the wrinkles are gone.
