4 Unit Objectives Students will be able to identify what countries were involved in WWI Students will be able to recognize the different continents that were involved in this war along with the different continents where the war was physically fought on. Students will examine the outcome of World War One on the World as a whole and will be able to analyze the effects of the war on each country. The students will interpret how the outcome of the war affected each country in the coming decade. The students will be able to locate and differentiate the different “fronts” of the war.

5 Unit Summary In this unit students will learn not only the basic facts about WWI but also how this war changed the world as a whole. Students will be able to identify all of the causes that lead up to this war, not just the immediate factors. Students will be able to assess what changed during the course of the war, including what caused the United States to enter the war when they did. Students will be able to identify what new technologies were used in battles, such as mustard gas. how did the end of the war come about, who caused the war to end (German soldiers); and how did the end of this war affect the world in the coming decade. Students will have the chance to talk about what they have learned in daily class discussions which will help them retain the knowledge they have learned. http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=65945&rendTypeId=4

7 Assessment? During this unit students will be given a list of assignments to complete, each assignment will be for a grade. During this unit plan students will have: – Two essays to complete – One worksheet, which will be graded on completion. – Two “fact finding” assignments, which will be graded based on if the student followed the directions given. – One test – One brochure assignments, this will be graded based on if the students have fulfilled the requirements asked. – One PowerPoint, which will be graded based on if the requirements were fulfilled. – All activities from webquest and other online assignments will be graded based on completion and if the student followed the directions given.

8 What have I learned? The easier question is what have I NOT learned!!! I learned how to create a webpage … that’s way new information! I learned how to align pesky paragraphs in Microsoft Word, it might have taken me two days but that is some information I will NEVER forget! I learned what the software Inspire was and how to create learning webs while using it. I am now able to create crossword puzzles and word searches. And last but not least: I have learned how to incorporate technology into ALL aspects of teaching!
