GEOGRAPHY Cook Strait (North Island and South Island) and a small island (Stewart Island); The North Island – springs, geysers, watering places; he South Island – fertile plains, high mountains, the Southern Alps; Mount Cook – 3,764 m; Rivers: the Wanganui, the Waikato; L Lake Taupo.

THE NATIONAL ECONOMY Industry plays an important role; GRASS – is “the green gold” of New Zealand; Food Industry (butter, cheese), milk powder factories, meat works, meat canneries; Mainly farm machinery and equipment.
