1 How to Create a Within Fund Budget Transfer Within FAST

2 Logging Into the Application - https://www.umb.edu/administration_finance/budget_office/fast.phphttps://www.umb.edu/administration_finance/budget_office/fast.php 3. Click on the button labeled “Login 2. Enter your “Password” – This is your umb.edu email password 1. Enter your “User name” – This user name is your UMB email name without the @umb.edu

3 How to Create an Online Budget Transfer Request In the box on the upper Right side of the screen, click on “ Budget and Forecasting”

4 Choose the Current Fiscal Year (FY10) & then click submit

5 Please click on Create a New Budget Transfer

6 1 St Step – Please fill in the form using your information 1. Dept Number2. Date you would like to transfer funds3. Select Current Year Budget 4. Select BD01 under Budget Type5. Type in a general description of what the transfer is for. 6. Click Save

7 Starting the Budget Transfer Step 1 -Click on the Green Plus Symbol

8 Entering Where the Funds Are Coming From Step 1 – Enter the fund Step 2 – Enter the Department Number Step 3 - Enter Acct number Step 4 – Enter the total amount you would like to transfer out of this account Step 5 – Click on the disk with the green symbol next to it.

9 Review the Criteria of Where Money is Coming from 1. Fund2. Dept Number3. Account Code4. Total Amount 5. Is the transfer Balanced? Important All Budget Transfers MUST BE BALANCED TO BE SUBMITTED

10 If you would like to transfer FROM more that location Step 1 - Please click on the Disk with Green Plus symbol Step 2 - follow the steps 1 – 5 again

11 Entering Where the Funds Are Going to Step 1 – Enter the fund Step 2 – Enter the Department Number Step 3 - Enter Acct number Step 4 – Enter the total amount you would like to transfer out of this account Step 5 – If this is the only location you are sending Money to Click on the Blue Disk Step 6 – If there are multiple locations you are sending Money to Click on the disk with the green symbol next to it.

12 Review the Criteria of Where Money is Going To 1. Fund(s)2. Dept Number(s)3. Account Code(s)4. Total Amount 5. Is the transfer Balanced? Important All Budget Transfers MUST BE BALANCED TO BE SUBMITTED

13 How Do I Edit Information on Request Step 1 – Click on Pencil Step 2 – Update any information you would like Step 3 – Click on Blue Disk to save

14 How do I submit supporting documentation or write ups supporting transfer? Step 1 – Click on Paper clipStep 2 attach document just as you would for an email

15 How to Submit Once you Have Reviewed your Budget Transfer Step 1 – Click on Email icon

16 How to Submit for Office of Budget and Financial Planning Approval Step 1 – Check of box called “check here to send directly to Office of Budget and Financial Planning” Step 2 Enter any notes you think would be beneficial for this transaction Step 3 – Verify the Budget transfer comes out to zero. (this means increase = decreases) Step 4 - Click on Submit

17 How to Submit to someone other than the Office of Budget and Financial Planning for Review Step 1 – Click on magnifying glass and enter employees last name then click submit. Then click on their last name Step 2 Enter any notes you think would be beneficial for this transaction Step 3 – Verify the Budget transfer comes out to zero. (this means increase = decreases) Step 4 - Click on Submit
