To form the present tense in Spanish you follow these steps… 1.Find the infinitive of the verb being done ex: study – estudiar 2.Take off the 2-letter ending (-ar / -er / -ir) so that you’re left with the “stem” of the verb ex: estudiar 3.Add one of the following endings, depending on whom or what is doing the verb, and what type of verb it is X -AR Verbs -o -as -a -amos -an I You (sing,inf) He/she/it We You(pl,inf) They -ER Verbs -o -es -e -emos -en -IR Verbs -o -es -e -imos -en NOTE: You do not need a separate word for “I / you / he”etc, as this is shown through the verb ending you add on.
