4 th Quarter Project Chemistry Domino Puzzles

20 Index Cards Each student create their own puzzle Each index card will have a question and an answer to a different question on them

Arranged in a continuous pattern where the questions can match up to their correct answer The shape of the entire puzzle can be unique or one of the shapes given as examples in class

Four Categories (4-5 questions in each) 1.Math and Measurements in Chemistry (ex: scientific notation, calculations with scientific notation, conversions, measurement units, instruments used to measure, density problems, etc.)

Four Categories (4-5 questions in each) 2. Properties of Matter (ex: chemical and physical properties of matter, physical and chemical changes, properties of water, phase changes, states of matter, etc.)

Four Categories (4-5 questions in each) 3. The Atom and Periodic Table (ex: subatomic particles, Scientist who played role in Atomic Theory, elements, atomic number, find number protons, electrons, and neutrons, bohr models, etc.)

Four Categories (4-5 questions in each) 4. Important Groups, Chemical Bonds and Naming Compounds (ex: identify elements or properties associated with special groups like Halogens, classify ionic or covalent bonds, how many atoms in a compound, valence electron number, oxidation number, naming ionic and covalent compounds, cations and anions, etc.)

We will be working on this in class Tuesday May 20 th and Wednesday May 21 st. On Thursday May 22 nd you will receive a grade for your puzzle project and we will use the puzzles to exchange and play games to help us study and prepare for our final exam. If you miss class any of those three days you need to finish your project on your own time at home, it is still due on May 22 nd or your next day in class. Due by Thursday May 22 nd
