4 Why do you do what you do as a Christian? – To go to heaven? – To not go to hell? – To be seen of men? – To be seen by God? – To bear fruit? – To lay up treasure in heaven? Why? – To glorify God? – To please God? – Because you owe the Lord? – Because you love the Lord? – Because men hate you? – Because you love men?

8 in works they deny Him disqualified for every good work Titus 1:15–16 - 15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

9 followers of what is good sanctify the Lord God in your hearts that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 1 P ETER 3:13-17
