3 Course Objectives  Identify at least 5 types of victim notifications  Identify at least 3 types of hearings attended with victims  Identify at least 2 types of specialty services offered to victims

4 Applicable Statute NRS 209.521 Notification of victim of escape or release of offender provides: Upon written request by the victim, DOC will notify them if the offender: A)Escapes B)Released into the community; and C)Is temporarily released into the community. All victim information is confidential.

5 Notifications  Sentence structure & location of offender;  Escape & recapture of offender;  Discharge of sentence;  Application for residential confinement programs;  Execution;  Death of offender;  International transfers; and  Interstate compact transfers.

6 Hearings  Parole Board;  Pardons Board; and  Executions.

7 Additional Services for Victims  Photographs of offenders upon release  Protection / Restraining Orders  Confidential Address Program [CAP]
