2 INTRODUCTION  Children have curiosity and imagination enhance creativity and their ability to think  Inject stimulus to multiply their imagination what they learn becomes more meaningful  Children need to understand in advance how objects around them work so that the process of imitation can be applied to their artwork

3 CHILDREN’S IMAGINATION  Children learn through their senses, feelings and imaginations  According to Mayesky(2012), one way to help children think more creatively is to get them to “make things better with their imagination”  The imagination of young children are highly developed and frequently used in play and art  A dog can be as big as a bear, house can be a castle fill with jewels and a special can be invincible  The imaginary life of a child is powerful and sways their perceptions of the real world until they master adult rationally and logic

4 SYMBOLIC THINKING  In piaget’s stage of cognitive development in children, preoperational thought is characterized by the use of symbols to represent objects and relationships among them  Examples of symbolic thought are pretend play, drawing, writing, and speaking  Symbol systems allow children to invent, create, think, reinvent, a never-ending cycle of thought and creation  Symbolic play is when a child assimilates a concrete object with a scheme which already exists for a familiar object(Ginsgerg, 79)  For examples, as children, many people pretend to be rock stars and use a household broom as a guitar

5 THE USE OF TOOLS, MEDIA AND TECHNIQUES  In artistic expression, a painter needs one canvas, brush and color. Children also need to be supplied with the appropriated tools to gain their imaginative stimulus  The easiest thing is to provide paper and crayons and children are given the freedom to communicate using their own creativity A variety of tools and media Basic tools Picture Video recording and use of ICT Experience with idea
