2 Accessing the format data series dialog box To emphasize a particular slice of the pie chart, we may want to rotate the pie until the slice of interest is in the foreground of the pie. 3 The format data series dialog box Click on the Options tab to change the options for the pie chart. One of the available options is a numeric spinner for changing the angle of the first slice of the pie. The entire pie will rotate when we change the angle of the first slice. 4 Increasing the angle of slice one Click on the up arrow of the spinner until the angle of the first slice is set to 120 degrees. At this angle, the blue slice will appear in the foreground or bottom of the chart. Click on the OK button to apply the change to the pie chart. 7 The 3-D View dialog box The 3-D View dialog box contains two button for rotating the pie chart both clockwise and counter-clockwise. When the rotation buttons are click, the rotation text box will show the angle, and the preview chart will show a wire-frame depicting the 3-D pie. In addition, the 3-D View box supports changes in the view angle, so that we see more or less of the pie surface. If you want to start over again, click on the Default button. If you move the dialog box so that you can see the chart, the Apply button will apply whatever change in rotation you have made so that you can see what the actual chart will look like. 8 Rotating the chart Click three times on the up arrow to increase the angle of elevation to 30 degrees. Click nine times on the rotate clockwise button to increase the angle of the first slice to 90 degrees. Click on the OK button to apply the change in rotation and elevation.
