3 MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

4 Service Requirements What is a Service Hour? –Unpaid help for a disadvantaged group of people What a Service Hour is NOT –Church Activities –Getting paid to mow your neighbor’s lawn –Helping your family clean the garage

5 Service Requirements Pledge Quarter Requirements –7 total service hours –5 MUST be contributed to BAP sponsored event –2 can be contributed to BAP or another organization Keep track of non-BAP hours and submit them to http://bschool.washington.edu/bap/

6 Service Requirements Annual Requirements –3 in addition to pledge quarter –10 Total Service Hours –50% must be contributed to BAP sponsored events –Matching: 1 for 1 If contribute 8 service hours to non-BAP events Must contribute 8 service hours to BAP sponsored events to receive credit for the first 8 hours

7 Professional Requirements What is a Professional Hour? –BAP meetings and other informative, business related meetings What a Professional Hour is NOT –Recruiting Events

8 Professional Requirements Pledge Quarter –8 Total Professional Hours –7 MUST be BAP meetings –1 CAN be from another organization (check with VP of Membership) –CISB Students: Contact VP of Membership

9 Professional Requirements Annual Hour Requirements –2 in addition to pledge quarter –10 Total Hours –50% must be acquired by attending BAP meetings –Matching If you attend 8 non-BAP professional events Must attend 8 BAP meetings to receive credit for the non-BAP hours

10 Meeting Requirements Arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure your hours are properly recorded Attire: Business casual clothing

11 Total Hour Requirements Pledge Quarter –7 Service hours 5 must be BAP sponsored –8 Professional Hours 7 must be BAP meetings –Total: 15 hours Annually –10 Service hours –10 Professional Hours –8 Additional Hours Service and/or Professional –50% of each category must be BAP sponsored –Total: 28 hours

12 Academic Requirement Junior standing (have taken, or currently enrolled in a 300-level accounting class) 3.1 in upper division business classes OR 3.25 for last 45-quarter credits

13 Additional Requirements Financial Contribution –$45 pledge Fee –$40 quarterly dues –Winter Quarter Total: $85 Due Date –January 18, 2006 –Pay dues before Thursday meetings or during the week of January 16-19 from 11:30-1:30 in Balmer Commons
