In 2010, 17% of the population were 65 or older. The number of people aged 85 years and older has more than doubled over the last fifteen years to1.4 million, whilst the percentage of under 16s has fallen from 21% to 19%. The population aged 65 years + will account for 23% of the total population by 2035; whilst the proportion of the population aged between 16-64 normally considered to be economically active, is due to fall from 65% to 59%

Delegates will be able to build up credits over a number of years to gain awards, if desired. Qualifications awarded by a partner university dependent on mixture of modules taken. Modules are all at Masters Degree level and most are 10 or 15 Credits No qualification pre-requisites are required, accepting individuals will need the aptitude to study at masters level Is approved for accreditation by IMechE and the IET as company work-based further learning.
