Electives Extensive List of Electives Varies depending on major Can be found in bulletin Use your bulletin year Online on Website Bulletin Year You can use “yours” or most current

Electives A couple of things… 1.Plan backwards! Grad school? Different programs have different prereqs 2.Continue ρ in negative direction Check prereqs for electives Most biology electives require BIOL240 Biol Department is impacted, check changes to prereqs

Advising Overwhelmed? Go to advising! Also a requirement depending on current class enrollment Plan early, Go early! Wait time can exceed 3 hours!

Tick Tock… Life as a chemistry major can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be impossible! It’s all about planning Again… Plan backwards to get overall idea of what your time at SFSU will look like Pad your semester with non-science GE’s Inevitably will have a semester with all science classes, and that is okay! Just be realistic Transfer students, won’t have as much schedule flexibility

Tick Tock… Be honest with yourself Work? Research? Class? Extracurricular Activities? Look at your time commitments, something may have to go At the beginning of each semester: Get a planner/calendar Schedule out all exams, assignments, etc. Use this information to plan your studying each week Remember… COSE recommends 3 hours of studying per unit

Life ≠ School First and foremost, you need to take care of yourself Find at least one activity that can relieve your stress Exercise! Don’t believe us? Check the research Eat balanced Stressed? Take a break Counseling and Psychological Services Center http://psyservs.sfsu.edu/ Seriously… workshops on stress & anxiety, meditation, group support, etc.

Plan ahead! Ask questions! Study!
