“Holiness”

Hebrews 12:14-17

14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. 17 For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.

To Pursue, Work for, Seek after, and Endeavor to grasp a hold of: 1. Peace with all men 2. Seek Sanctification, which is the process of being made holy

Peace with All Men means that we are to be friendly and loving to all men and women, not just the ones that we wish to have relationships with.

Peace with All Men means we are not to participate in gossip, slander, divisions, and fractions. means we must let go of our judgment for others, our prejudices, various discriminations, and presuppositions.

Peace with All Men Instead, we are to simply love everyone as equals, children o God, the same as you and me, created in the image of God

Sanctification To be set apart-made holy

Holiness God promises to share with us/impart onto us His holiness when we ask Jesus Christ to be our personal Lord and Savior. He will Forgive us of our sin as the Holy Spirit takes residence in our hearts. Holiness is found only in the Cross of Christ.

Are we pursuing Peace with All Men and Sanctification?

How do we Pursue Peace with all men and this process of Holiness? Cross of Christ 1. Faith 2. Word of God 3. Holy Spirit

Why do we pursue peace with all men and Holiness? 2 Peter 3:9-12 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God…
