3 Situation - Challenging path Most of the youths are not interested in learning agriculture and forestry activities They are now chasing so called ‘’quick money making activities”

4 Forest producers and farmers are not fully organized They lack strength Not fully integrated Lack technical and production skills Lack basic entrepreneurial and marketing skills No value chain for them Not linked to the market Lack access to funding Situation – Forest & Farmers

5 FFF was launched in Liberia on 7 March 2013 FFF Liberia Purpose To enhance the organization and capacity of local people so they can engage in local, regional and national level policy dialogues and decision-making processes, which influence the future of forests and farms

6 Pillars - FFF Liberia I. Organizing producer groups a) For policy dialogue (FAFUN at district, county and national level) b) For business development (through FAFUN support to organization of farmers for business) II. Government cross-sector coordination (NFLF)

9 Pillar I - Organizing producers groups FFF and Farmer Union Network (FUN) agreed in working together to establish (Forest and Farmers Union Network (FAFUN) in Liberia at district, county and national level FARMERS UNION NETWOK OF LIBERIA + FAFUN =

10 Pillar I - Currently we are undertaken... 1. Mapping/identification of farmers and producers 2. Identification of leaders 3. Grouping/gather farmers and producers

11 Output of the integrated FAFUN consultation in the 4 districts of Grand Cape Mount County. 160 producers /farmers/organizations attended Concept of FAFUN explained and endorsed Leadership established in each of the 4 districts Documentation done for all of the 160 producers/farmers/organizations
