Prelim andCamera Which camera- Prelim (Cannon 550D), where we initially learnt the basics for filming. Started by…Examples: Mode dial-movie mode.. Set MF on lens… Movie exposure to manual- allowing maximum control over camera and its functions. White balance- photo of paper, custom WB, select image and set. Learnt to navigate white balance, because depending on each location, the colour temperature is different – Exposure- hold AV button spin dial fitting the (light) time of day… Important as viewers can be distracted if incorrect, therefore making it look unprofessional. Focus- using the magnifying glass to zoom into the subject, and using the focus ring to gain a sharp Arguably most important setting, as if it’s wrong no one can see anything.

Final Piece- Exposure had to be changed a few times depending on location.. Preston Park- Was dark- turned up brightness.. Time Lapse- exposure turned down as it was bright from sunset.. White Balance- We changed it quite a bit, as we were going from place to place around Brighton, however as it was generally a rainy dark day, it didn’t have to be changed each time.. Eg, in lanes we didn’t have to.. Focus- We had shots we faded in and out.. Most in focus.. we made cuts so that shots which had good moments of focus were kept, and we discarded what was not good. Continued… Shots: we incorporated a variety of shots with the intension of reflecting our genre. For example, multiple associated POV shots of our character walking, but with a jagged effect relating to the mystery factor which is common throughout our sequence. Other shots like the time lapse is used to reflect out characters isolation, as time is flying by and he’s sitting there by himself. Other shots where the camera quickly views actions relating to drugs. We had a tracking/dolly shot conveying our main character walking along a street.

Continued… Sound: We used multiple soundtracks from incompetech to also achieve our theme of drugs and mystery. We incorporated a police siren at the end of our sequence.. Titles: We used the website DAFONT, and we chose a font which reflects our themes. We had some trouble deciding which one but we chose from multiple graffiti looking fonts to relate to the drug theme.
