2. The human respiratory system picks up oxygen from the air we inhale and releases carbon dioxide into the air we exhale

7. Alveoli Lungs Each one is surrounded by capillaries
Alveolar sac: group of alveoli
Alveolar sacs are group together in lobules of greater size each time
Lobules are grouped in segments and segments in lobes

Left lung: 2 lobes

Chemical properties of blood and red blood cells allow for efficient transport of gases througout the body.
