4. How do we know We know that the Ancient Egyptians wore makeup because we have found pictures on walls and tombs. Tombs were excavated by archaeologists. They also found traces of food in pottery and tombs.

5. How many hieroglyphs were there? There are more than 700 hieroglyphs. Hieroglyphs were Egyptian writing using pictures. We know how to translate them from the Rosetta stone.
